Epicnesia Inventory KitVersion 1.0.1

Build your next Android inventory app without starting from zero.

A reusable offline-first source-code foundation built with Kotlin and Jetpack Compose. Start with stock movements, multi-location inventory, and transaction history—then adapt it to your project's workflows.

Epicnesia Inventory Kit home screen with a Scan Barcode / QR entry frame, a manual SKU or barcode field, and Receive, Issue, Transfer and Adjust quick actions.

Built for the work that comes before the real product work.

Inventory applications repeatedly need the same foundations: local persistence, stock movement rules, location-aware balances, scanning workflows, physical stock count, and operational history. Epicnesia Inventory Kit packages those foundations into a maintainable Android project so developers can focus on the parts that make their product or client implementation unique.

A practical inventory foundation.

Master data

  • Product, Category, Unit, and Location management

Stock movements

  • Receive / Stock In
  • Issue / Stock Out
  • Adjustment with reason and audit history
  • Atomic stock transfer between locations

Visibility & history

  • Inventory balance by product and location
  • Append-only stock movement history
  • Movement history and filtering

Operational workflow

  • Barcode / QR scanner-first workflow
  • Physical stock count with variance adjustments

Foundation & delivery

  • Offline-first Room persistence
  • Demo / sample data
  • Tests and technical documentation

Designed around real inventory operations.

Offline-first

Core inventory workflows remain usable without requiring a production backend.

Barcode-first

Scanning can lead directly to product lookup and common inventory actions.

Multi-location inventory

Track balances and movement across warehouses, stores, vehicles, or other operational locations.

Physical stock count

Compare expected and counted quantities, review variance, and create auditable adjustment movements.

Stock needs history, not just a number.

  • Stock-changing operations leave append-only movement history in the normal application flow.
  • Receive, Issue, Adjustment, and Transfer update inventory consistently.
  • Transfer decreases the source and increases the destination atomically.
  • Negative stock is rejected for Issue and Transfer by default in V1.
  • Physical stock count does not silently overwrite balance; variance creates an adjustment movement.
Transfer Stock screen with a quantity of 3 and a Stock Projection showing the source going from 9 to 6 and the destination from 23 to 26.
Demo data shown.
Movement History list with filters by movement type and entries showing a Receive and an Adjustment movement, each with quantity, SKU and location, and a reason on the adjustment.
Demo data shown.

Verify it in the source

This instrumented test intentionally transfers stock to a missing destination. The transfer fails, the source balance remains unchanged, and no transfer movements are persisted.

val result = inventoryRepository.transfer(productId, locationId, "missing-location", quantity = 2_000L, note = null)

assertEquals(TransferResult.Failed, result)
assertEquals(5_000L, database.inventoryBalanceDao().getBalance(productId, locationId)?.quantity)
assertNull(database.inventoryBalanceDao().getBalance(productId, "missing-location"))
assertNoTransferMovementsExist()

Built for developers who need to ship inventory products.

Android developers

Start from an inventory-specific foundation instead of assembling common infrastructure repeatedly.

Freelancers

Reduce setup time when delivering inventory applications under client deadlines.

Software houses & agencies

Use a maintainable foundation that can be adapted across custom inventory projects.

Technical founders & indie developers

Prototype a serious inventory product before a full backend or SaaS platform is required.

Focused by design.

Epicnesia Inventory Kit V1 is not:

  • a POS / checkout system
  • an ERP or accounting platform
  • a payment solution
  • a supplier / purchase-order system
  • a production backend
  • a multi-tenant SaaS platform

Epicnesia Inventory Kit ships the inventory foundation first instead of trying to become every business system at once.

Built to be understood, not just downloaded.

The V1 package includes:

  • Android source code
  • demo / sample data
  • Getting Started documentation
  • architecture and project structure guide
  • local data / inventory model documentation
  • build and release guide
  • testing / QA notes
  • customization guidance
  • release notes
  • demo APK

Does it include a backend or cloud sync?

No. V1 is offline-first, with Room as the local source of truth. It includes no backend and no remote synchronization layer.

Can I use it for a client project?

Yes, within your license. Single Project covers one End Product, which may be for you or for one Client. Unlimited Project covers unlimited End Products, including for Clients, under one Licensee. Commercial License Agreement

Can I customize the architecture and UI?

Yes. The license lets you modify Inventory Kit for your covered End Products, and the documentation includes customization guides. You may not resell or publicly redistribute it as reusable source code.

Are updates and support included?

Your purchase includes all V1.x releases and 12 months of support from the purchase date. A future major version is not automatically included. After support ends, you can keep using the versions you received while your license remains in force. Support

How is the source code delivered?

After your purchase is confirmed, you receive access to a versioned source-code release package. Epicnesia's private development repository is not the delivery channel. Purchase & Refund Terms
